Adding a winch to the front of any vehicle will increase its capability. However, simply bolting a winch capable of pulling 8k+ lbs to the front of a uni-body van is not always a great idea, unless the mounting system is properly secured to the chassis and engineered for proper load dispersion throughout the vehicle. Van Compass engineered this Winch Mount System to strengthen and load the chassis correctly so that our customers can have the peace of mind knowing that when they need to use their winch, they can do so with confidence. Confidence to explore is one thing; confidence to explore without destroying your vehicle is why Van Compass products are the best in the industry.
This winch mount system is constructed from a combination of 3/16” high strength steel and has integrated ¾” D-ring shackle anchor points constructed from massive ¾” thick steel plates. All fixtured and expertly welded in house at Van Compass with the upmost attention to detail and weld quality. Engineered to bolt onto the chassis in 15 bolt locations and extending past the crumple zone of the van with re-enforcement brackets means this mounting system will not deflect or twist the chassis when properly used.
During the manufacturing process, we use a dual stage powder coat. With a zinc rich primer applied and baked on before the final matte black finish, this product will hold up to the elements for years to come. While most of the winch mount is hidden behind the factory bumper cover. The ¾” shackle anchor points protrude through as does the front receiver to give the Promaster a muscular front end update without being a detriment to aerodynamics and fuel economy which is often common with full replacement bumpers.
The front receiver on this system is included but is not mandatory to install. It is capable of holding a maximum of 300lbs of static load (tongue weight). Please review the instructions below for details on how this system is installed and which winches are compatible with this product. Space constraints are very tight on the front of the Promaster, so only select winches are confirmed to be compatible. Warn M8000, Warn XD9000, Superwinch Tiger Shark 9500SR
